Information for Nonprofit Attendees/Scholarship Application

What is THE Conference? Launched as an initiative of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber in 2010, THE Conference brings together top-notch, expert presenters at a time where economic conditions prevent many organizations from sending staff to conventions and professional development events.

Who attends THE Conference? A premier event for both nonprofit and business leaders, the 2011 will provide workshops and how-to activities that can be utilized and implemented by:

  • Business Leaders and Managers
  • Nonprofit Executives, Leaders, and Volunteers
  • Marketing, Public Relations and Communications Leaders
  • Human Resources Directors and Hiring Managers
  • Community Leaders

Who presents at THE Conference?

  • THE Conference 2011 will feature keynote presenters Alice Ferris and Jim Anderson, master teachers and presenters from GoalBusters Consulting (Flagstaff, AZ) who will present “Creating Team: Breaking Down Barriers & Inspiring Change” and several other workshops.
  • THE Conference will also accept applications for presentations through November 30, 2010. Information about the application process is available at Call for Presenters Page

What else do I need to know about THE Conference 2011? THE Conference 2011 brings together two complementary organizations: The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber and the Northeastern PA Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – two leading organizations serving the business and nonprofit communities.  Because of this partnership, we will offer several strategic ‘tracks’ including a fundraising boot camp, How-To Theatre – complete with hands-on take-aways, and a new leadership track.

Additional workshop selection is based heavily on participant feedback from THE Conference 2010 and Philanthropy Forum 2009.

How can my company participate? THE Conference offers significant marketing exposure for your company.  There are various levels of sponsorship designed to meet your marketing and budgetary needs.  Please call John Dawe, CFRE at 570-763-9876 or Donna Sedor, CCE at 570-823-2101 to discuss the possibilities.
